7. "Fly" By Nickelback, Released in 1996

8. "Santeria" By Sublime, Released in 1997

When thinking about what songs I should add, the hardest choices would be from the 20s to the 70s. The reason is that I had a lot more songs from the 80s and 90s I wanted to use (I love songs from the 90s and have four playlists saved from that time). I have been listening to songs from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s during the early times of my life. My father listened to bands like Guns N Roses, Metallica, AC/DC, Avenged Sevenfold, Dirty Heads, Sublime, etc. I have come to enjoy and have continued to add songs like these to my playlists (I make a new playlist around every 6 months and a new year's playlist of all the best songs of that year). I choose these songs specifically because they represent their respective times the most, musically wise. For the 80s and 90s, there was a very "vibrant" and insane amount of diverse and different songs created by these new bands we all know and love today. Each band has grown over time. A good example would be Sublime. Sublime now is Sublime With Rome, collaboration. With time, its style and feeling changed in an excellent way, "Santeria" to something newer like "Wicked Heart" is completely different in style vibe, and the energy it gives off is different, even if I love them both as songs. With all the collaborations of these people, bands, and such to make these songs is really nice to hear, going with my example of Sublime With Rome. A song they made with an early 2000s band, Dirty Heads, made "Lay Me Down." This is one of my favorite songs, and it is very vibrant, fast-paced, and overall something I come to find as a comfort song. A comforting song to me is a song that takes my mind off certain topics or things and helps me focus (as I am now, listening to a song to help me concentrate on this assignment). I loved this assignment because it allowed me to go back into my older playlists and find some songs to listen and find which ones would be best suited for this assignment. I went through 34 playlists, looking for these songs. I hope you enjoy them!
