Module/Blog 4 Assignment: Public Art

Image
Throughout time and the ever-evolving world with many cultures or organizations. With much diversity of ideas and creations, there is a lot of art from the world's many cultures. Some art depicted from Southern Asia around 150 AD was found in Italy/Rome. That sculpture (since painting and modern art we see today didn’t exist) was the Mithraic Relief with Bull from the possible Mithraism people, who worshiped this god of the rising sun. This sculpture shows a bull's sacrifice to the ones above (on the left). Sacrificing an animal, such as a bull, goat, calf (depending on the religion/or sacrifice), shows devotion to the god they are sacrificing this animal too. It can be for forgiveness, to stop famine during the winter, and more. Many people who lived this way did it for their families and people, to plead to god to not have the plague or to cure someone sick like a friend or loved one. If someone were to cause hardship, crime, or kill someone, they would sacrifice a...

Module/Blog 3 Assignment: Abstract Images

Image
Abstract Art comes in endless forms. To make something from nothing into what we can see in reality is quite impressive. Personally, it is one of my favorite types of art to do because it allows me to bring out inner creativity, with a lot of trial and error to make your perfect piece, of course! It reminds me of music in a way. With music, you start with nothing, no shape, environment, and you have to make it all yourself or others. To me, music can be considered abstract art. As for actual abstract art, the look, feeling, and color patterns matter a lot, and it does also depend on the tastes of a person who judges abstract art. The reason is that everyone has their preferences and thoughts, especially if they don't understand the abstract art presented to them. I wouldn't know how to feel if given an abstract art I had no understanding of. I probably would ask to get a better idea of what the artist was trying to create. As for abstract art texture, I like physical and aest...

Module/Blog #2 Assignment: Representative Work

Image
Hello, my name is Parker O'Sullivan. This is the art I have chosen that connects the most with me as an individual. This is the art that I have chosen for my assignment. It represents the battles faced within Norse Mythology, which is the artwork that is depicted in modern times. It shows my sensibility to being a significant history person and very interested in mythologies such as Norse or Greek. It has always been fascinating because there has been a lot of time, depictions, and people who love and support these types of things, whether it be to have art like this, stories, etc. There is also a lot of music from Norse Mythology, and as a music lover, I like listening to and working with this music (as I currently am right now, while working on this Blogpost).  This art depiction can also depict my values and see the light of things. These values can include what I see as a human being, how I feel about things, and how aware I can be of things that can happen or take place....

Module/Blog 1: Create My Course Blog

Hello, my name is Parker O'Sullivan. I am seventeen years old and a student at FSW, under the Dual Enrollment Program. I was born and raised in Florida all of my life and have always stayed relatively close to this region of Florida. Currently, I am working towards my Associate's Degree in Business Management. The degree I will earn will help me properly gain, understand, and apply my skills and effort to a business; I can either create, co-own, or help operate. Some hobbies that I have been playing video games, making music, and hanging out with others. With this humanities class, I will branch out to others more and understand them more than I usually do, and better understand everyone. It's fun to learn about others and their interests/hobbies!

Choosing A Blogging Platform

Blogger.com seems to be simpler than most of the other websites I had used either in the past or with the other blog sites I have seen today. Blogger has a similar style to google docs and seems to be reliable to use. Also, I would recommend this over Tumblr because it is more straightforward to use (I had used Tumblr in the past and personally didn't like it).
